Transition

Transition, move between moves, or the way one gets into or out of another move. "Though transitions are generally among the least flamboyant moves," wrote Schloss, "they are arguably the most vital. Experienced Hip Hop dancers will tell you that any move, no matter how expertly performed, has not been mastered until the dancer knows multiple ways to get into and out of it" . Trac 2 emphasized how the evolution of transitions, no less than moves, contributed to the development of breaking in the 1970s .

Transitions may also be considered moves themselves, and many in fact are (particularly drops). The distinction, as Storm pointed out , depends not only on a move's inherent qualities, but also on the differential diffusion of practice and theory.
