Pretzel

Pretzel, footwork pattern where each leg performs a sweep.

History

The pretzel was developed by members of Battle Squad, evolving from the concept of dancing around one foot without moving it . It was also influenced by, and became a part of, the development of sweeps in Europe in the 1980s and 1990s . The name is derived from the two circles the sweeps trace on the floor, resembling a pretzel shape . More commonly, only half the pretzel pattern is done.

The name "pretzel" is also used for numerous freezes .
